House of Hope Sunnyslope is House of Refuge Sunnyslope's newest program offering transitional housing to single mothers with young children. Through the Power and Love of Jesus, the HHS vision is to offer single mothers and their children clean and safe housing, supportive services, and life skills coaching to enable them to become a self-sufficient, cohesive family unit. The HHS mission is to provide single mothers the tools and techniques necessary to break the cycle of poverty by surrounding them with a dedicated team who will inspire hope and promote success through mentoring, goal setting, and accountability tracking.
WE ARE CELEBRATING OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY THIS MONTH!After one year of ministry we have doubled in size. We have the original 5 apartment House of Hope complex at 344 E. Carol and now a 3 apartment complex at 802 E. Ironwood. Also, we have a 4 bedroom house we will be using to house a single mom family. We are now at capacity with 9 families and have almost 20 children! Thanks to a grant from Qwest, the playground is providing good entertainment for the children at HHS. Also, thanks to AMC Consolidated for their generous donation of the playground surface. We have planted trees and dream of a community garden where the families can grow some of their own food. We currently have 6 churches who have committed to being family support teams and are looking for more people from different churches to jump on board as well.
