House of Hope Sunnyslope (HHS)House of Hope Sunnyslope is House of Refuge Sunnyslope's newest program offering transitional housing to single mothers with young children. Through the Power and Love of Jesus, the HHS vision is to offer single mothers and their children clean and safe housing, supportive services, and life skills coaching to enable them to become a self-sufficient, cohesive family unit. The HHS mission is to provide single mothers the tools and techniques necessary to break the cycle of poverty by surrounding them with a dedicated team who will inspire hope and promote success through mentoring, goal setting, and accountability tracking. WE ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN! Located at 344 E Carol Ave, the 5 units of the House of Hope complex have been fully renovated and were opened to applicants a few months ago. We are currently full and openings are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Thanks to a grant from Qwest, the playground is providing good entertainment for the children at HHS. Also, thanks to AMC Consolidated for their generous donation of the playground surface. We have planted trees and dream of a community garden where the families can grow some of their own food. The landscaping designs are being finalized and the construction on the laundry and meeting/storage rooms will soon begin. OUR PRESENT NEEDS We currently have 5 families participating in the HHS Program. As our mothers begin school and part time jobs, they need help getting items that they are struggling to afford. Here are things that you can give that would make a huge impact TODAY.
You can call Angela (602-885-9661) to coordinate drop off times. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES We will need plenty of dedicated volunteers to make our families successful in this program.
Please fill out our Volunteer Application if you are interested in volunteering with the House of Hope.
