Many of the men and women in our program are unable to afford to buy their children a simple Christmas or birthday gift. Parents take such joy in giving to their children and your donation to this fund would allow us to provide the parent with the opportunity to shop and wrap a gift especially for their child.

Gift Cards

Throughout the year some of our established residents have emergency situations that arise and we would like to provide them with gift cards to meet these challenges. Needs typically include groceries, gas, prescriptions. Your gift would allow us to keep some basic gift cards on hand to help a resident in an emergency.

Bus Pass

Most new residents, both men and women, arrive without a vehicle or job. As they immediately look for work or need to get to work they need to purchase a bus pass. Unfortunately, many of them do not have the funds for this “ticket” to work. This gift would provide a one month bus pass for a brand new resident.

Dentistry Work

One of the challenges of the working poor is that many healthcare needs are not taken care of and compounded by neglect. We have a great need to provide dental care to our residents and Public Assistance is so overbooked. Your gift would be matched with the residents own payment for dental work to help bring down the cost and provide them with this much needed service.

Education

Many of our men and women need further education to grow their jobs/careers. With your gift to this area we can support an established resident with enrollment fees, text books, or to repair a donated laptop for online classes.

Children’s Extracurricular Activities
Suggested gift $100
We typically have 16 – 20 children at the House of Hope. These children rarely have the opportunity to play an instrument, join a sports team, or take an art class. When children participate in these activities their school grades improve and they learn life skills. This gift would pay for one month of music lessons, or typically pay for a sports enrollment fee.

Vehicle Purchase

Many of our residents spend hours each day on the bus going to and from work. Our single mothers also take their children to daycare, doctor appointments, etc. on the bus. Your donation would help a resident purchase a car from us at a subsidized price to save them anywhere from 2-4 hours a day spent on public transportation.
